About this tool

Planner Refill Maker creates printable pages at the physical dimensions of A5, Bible, Mini 6, Micro5, HB×WA5, Davinci Pocket, and custom planner sizes. Choose monthly spreads, yearly layouts, weekly vertical or note formats, daily pages, ruled paper, grid paper, or dot-grid notes, then adjust text size, holiday colors, rules, page numbers, and week numbers.

The layout accounts for ring-side margins and mirrored left/right pages, and can export either an exact-size refill PDF or a full-size imposition on A4 / US Letter without silently scaling the refill. Verified Japanese holiday data for 2026–2027 is bundled, and a 100 mm / 50 × 50 mm size-check PDF helps verify printer scaling. Settings, previews, and PDF generation run locally in the browser without a runtime API or CDN.

How to use

  1. Open the tool and choose the physical refill size and portrait/landscape orientation from A5, Bible, Mini 6, Micro5, HB×WA5, Davinci Pocket, or custom dimensions.
  2. Select Monthly, Yearly, Weekly, Daily, or Notes, then choose the layout and date range or note-page count.
  3. Adjust week start, Japanese holidays, weekend/holiday colors, text size, style, ruling, page numbers, and week numbers as needed.
  4. Keep the automatic ring-side margin or set a manual 4–30 mm value; for one-page layouts, choose whether the first page is right or left.
  5. Inspect the preview. If needed, create the size-check PDF and physically measure its 100 mm line and 50 × 50 mm square.
  6. Choose Exact refill size, A4, or US Letter. A4 / Letter keeps the refill at full physical size and automatically selects an orientation and placement that fits.
  7. Choose single-sided, long-edge, or short-edge duplex output, enable crop guides if needed, save the PDF, and print at Actual Size / 100% with Fit to page disabled.

  • Ring handling: automatic or manual 4–30 mm ring-side margins, mirrored left/right pages, first-page side selection, and punch-position guides.
  • Output: exact-size refill PDF, A4 / US Letter imposition, single-sided / long-edge / short-edge duplex, crop guides, front/back preview, and blank final backs when required.
  • Size verification: generate a PDF with a 100 mm reference line and 50 × 50 mm reference square to detect printer scaling.
  • Runtime networking: calendar generation, preview, imposition, and PDF creation stay in the browser; the generated HTML uses connect-src 'none' and requires no runtime API/CDN.

Limitations and notes

  • Bundled Japanese holiday data covers 2026 and 2027 only; holidays outside that range are intentionally not guessed.
  • Punch-position guides are alignment references and do not guarantee the exact hole positions used by a specific planner manufacturer.
  • Date input ranges from January 1900 through December 2100, with a maximum selected span of 60 months.
  • Large date ranges and constrained mobile devices can require substantial memory during PDF generation.
  • A4 / US Letter imposition never silently scales a refill down; an error is shown when the refill cannot fit at full size.
  • Accurate physical output requires the printer/PDF viewer to use Actual Size / 100% with automatic Fit-to-page scaling disabled.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create Bible or Mini 6 refills?

Yes. A5, Bible, Mini 6, Davinci Pocket, Micro5, HB×WA5, and custom dimensions are supported.

Can I create weekly and daily pages as well as monthly pages?

Yes. Monthly, yearly, weekly, daily, and notes layouts are available, including weekly block, weekly+notes, vertical, ruled, grid, and dot-grid formats.

Are Japanese public holidays included automatically?

Verified holiday data for 2026 and 2027 is bundled. Holidays outside those years are not guessed.

Can multiple refill pages be imposed on A4?

Yes. A4 and US Letter imposition keeps refills at their physical size and calculates an orientation and placement that fits without scaling them down.

Can the PDF be arranged for duplex printing?

Yes. Choose single-sided, long-edge, or short-edge output, with front/back placement preview and a blank final back when required.

What should I do if the printed size is wrong?

Print the size-check PDF, measure its 100 mm line and 50 × 50 mm box, and verify that the print dialog uses Actual Size / 100%.

Does it reproduce each planner manufacturer's exact punch-hole positions?

No. Punch marks are alignment guides only; verify them against the actual binder or refill you use.

Offline version and source code

The generated dist/index.html is a single HTML file that can be opened directly from file:// for size selection, calendar generation, preview, imposition, and PDF creation. Settings can be kept in browser local storage when needed; the hosted Pages version only requires the initial HTML download.
