About this tool

Document Scanner turns photos of paper documents into multi-page PDFs in the browser. It detects document corners, lets you correct the four points manually when needed, and applies perspective correction to pages photographed at an angle.

Beyond simple image-to-PDF conversion, it includes common submission constraints such as A4 layout, black-and-white output, and 1 MB / 2 MB target sizes for government, school, insurance, or workplace forms. Image processing and PDF generation stay on the device.

Good for

  • Submit photographed paper forms to government, school, insurance, or workplace portals
  • Correct skewed document photos and combine multiple pages into one PDF
  • Meet submission requirements such as 1 MB / 2 MB limits, A4 layout, or black-and-white output

What it can do

Key capabilities available in this tool.

How to use

  1. Open the tool on a phone and enable the camera or add existing images.
  2. Capture the full page, review the detected corners, and adjust the four points manually if necessary.
  3. Choose Auto, Color, Gray, or Black & White, then add the corrected page.
  4. Repeat for additional pages and drag the page cards into the correct order.
  5. Choose A4, 1 MB / 2 MB, B&W, or other submission settings, generate the PDF, then review its size and save or share it.

Supported

  • Input: camera capture or existing device images, with multiple pages.
  • Correction: automatic corner detection, manual four-point adjustment, perspective correction, Auto / Color / Gray / B&W.
  • Submission presets: under 1 MB, under 2 MB, A4 portrait/landscape, and black-and-white.
  • Output: PDF download and Web Share API on supported devices.

Limitations and notes

  • Automatic corner detection can fail on white surfaces, low contrast, reflections, strong shadows, or when document edges are outside the frame.
  • 1 MB / 2 MB targets are best-effort and may require substantial quality reduction for many or image-heavy pages.
  • Camera, torch, native zoom, and sharing features depend on device and browser support.
  • The tool is not intended for OCR or generation of searchable-text PDFs.

Frequently asked questions

Are scanned documents uploaded to a server?

No. Camera-image processing, corner detection, perspective correction, and PDF generation run in the browser; document contents are not uploaded to Browser Kitty.

Can it create PDFs under 1 MB or 2 MB?

Yes. 1 MB and 2 MB presets progressively adjust JPEG quality and resolution toward the target, although results are best-effort depending on page content.

Can it correct a document photographed at an angle?

Yes. It detects the document corners and allows manual adjustment of the four points before applying perspective correction.

Can I use it without camera access?

Yes. You can add existing photos or scanned images from the device and still correct, organize, and export them as PDF.
