About this tool

Mini League Desk is a browser-based desk for preparing and running small round-robin events. Add 3–64 participants, then manage matches from either a fixture list or a participant-by-participant round-robin matrix.

Choose win/loss, win/draw/loss, or score-entry mode. During the event you can see progress, suggested next matches, remaining opponents, and current standings, then export match CSV, standings CSV, standings PNG, printouts, or a JSON backup. Event data is processed locally in the browser.

Good for

  • Run a small club or school league without manually preparing round-robin fixtures
  • Track results, remaining matches, and live standings for table tennis, games, board games, or similar events
  • Create a round-robin table on the spot and keep CSV or standings output without preparing a spreadsheet first

What it can do

Key capabilities available in this tool.

How to use

  1. Optionally name the event and choose Win/loss, Win/draw/loss, or Score entry.
  2. Add at least three participants; multiple names can be pasted at once.
  3. Reorder the roster if needed and confirm the participants.
  4. Use Progress to review completion status and suggested next matches.
  5. Use Matches to open the fixture list or round-robin matrix and enter results. In score mode, the outcome is derived from the scores.
  6. Use Standings to review the current ranking.
  7. Save match CSV, standings CSV, standings PNG, print output, or a JSON backup when needed.

Supported

  • Participants: 3–64, with single entry, multi-name paste, and roster reordering.
  • Match views: fixture list and round-robin matrix, using ○ = win, × = loss, △ = draw, and — = pending.
  • Result modes: win/loss uses 1 point for a win; win/draw/loss and score entry use 3 for a win and 1 for a draw.
  • Score-mode ranking: league points → score difference → score for. Equal values remain a shared rank rather than using registration order as a tiebreak.
  • Storage: active events autosave in browser storage and support JSON backup / restore.
  • Exports: match-results CSV, standings CSV, standings PNG, and print; desktop/mobile and Japanese/English are supported.

Limitations and notes

  • Version 1.0.0 supports round-robin events only; knockout brackets, Swiss pairing, and group-stage plus knockout formats are not supported.
  • There are no accounts, cloud sync, spectator publishing URLs, or real-time multi-device collaboration.
  • Clearing site data can remove the active event unless you have a JSON backup.
  • Score-mode standings do not include head-to-head tiebreaking.
  • The hard participant limit is 64; the primary use case is a small event operated from one browser.

Frequently asked questions

How many participants can I put in a round-robin?

The app supports 3–64 participants. Release checks cover explicit 3 / 4 / 5 / 8 / 16 participant cases and round-robin pairing invariants across 3–64.

Can I record draws and scores?

Yes. Win/draw/loss uses 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw. Score entry derives ○ / × / △ from both scores and also uses score difference and score for in standings.

What happens when participants are tied?

When all active ranking values are equal, participants share the same rank. Registration order does not create an artificial sporting tiebreak. Score mode uses league points, score difference, then score for.

Is event data sent to a server?

No. The hosted version first loads the HTML, but event names, participants, fixtures, results, standings, backups, and generated output are processed in the browser and are not sent by the app to an external server.

Can I move an event to another device?

There is no cloud sync, but you can export a JSON backup and restore it in Mini League Desk on another device.

Offline version and source code

Mini League Desk can be built as a standalone HTML file with no runtime CDN, API, analytics, telemetry, remote-font, or third-party runtime dependency. Open the saved dist/index.html directly in a supported browser to create the round-robin, record results and standings, and export CSV / PNG / JSON without a network connection.
